Rejection of a professional corporation

Where an application for renewal of a permit is refused, the Registrar of the association shall send notice of that fact to the professional corporation.

Annual Renewal for permit

The permit for the professional corporation must be renewed every year by submitting the following required forms and fee to the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan no later than December 31:

Applicable form;

Professional Corporation Annual Return or Profile;

Applicable renewal fee. (Fee for renewal of a corporation is $125.00)

The Registrar may request additional information relating to application for renewal of annual permit by a professional corporation, and may refuse renewal of a permit until that information is provided.

Failure to renew your professional corporation permit

If the necessary documents do not reach the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan on or before December 31, the following will happen:

The permit of the professional corporation to practice chiropractic will not be restored until a restoration fee of $175 is paid to the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan, in   addition to the annual renewal fee; and,

The professional corporation may be unable to invoice for professional services until the permit of the professional corporation is restored.  This may have significant tax implications for the chiropractor involved.

Expiry of Permit

Upon expiry of the permit, the corporation will lose its status as a chiropractic professional corporation but can continue to exist as an ordinary corporation under The Business Corporations Act if the new shareholders wish the corporation to continue.  In that event, the name of the corporation would have to be change by excluding any words that reference ‘chiropractic professional corporation’ and replacing them as per wording in The Business Corporations Act.
